How do you get on a Zoom®?

Both of the control handles fold out to the side providing plenty of room to sit on the comfortable, high-back seat. Once seated, you simply fold the control arms back down in front of you.

How do you steer a Zoom®?

Steering an Zoom® is easier than it looks. The wrap-over control levers fold down in front of the user for operation. Each control lever controls the respective rear wheel. In other words, when you move the right control lever forward, it rotates the right rear wheel forward. The combination of movements by both levers provides incredible maneuverability. Think of steering the Zoom® the same way you would steer a grocery cart full of groceries. If you want to go forward, you push both hands forward. If you want to go back, you pull both hands back. If you want to turn to the left, you would push forward with your right hand and pull back with the left. The opposite procedure is made for a right hand turn. The further you push or pull the levers, the faster and quicker you will turn.

How can the Zoom® spin on a dime?

Unlike tractors that utilize one transaxle to power both rear tires, the Zoom® uses two independent transaxles to provide independent power to each rear tire. With this capability, one wheel can move forward while the other is moving back -- allowing the user to spin on a dime.

Why does the Zoom® save time?

There are two major reasons why the Zoom® can save you time. First, because of its exceptional maneuverability, you can get closer to trees, shrubs, and flower beds that will reduce your trimming time. Secondly, you can turn around so much faster than you can with a mowing tractor. Instead of turning, backing up, and then going on your way, the Zoom® can spin around quickly and you are off mowing.

How much time will I save?

The amount of time you save over your previous piece of mowing equipment will depend on what you were using before and how well you use the Zoom®. Typically, however, after you get the hang of it, you will find that you can cut a third to half off your total mowing time.

Is the Zoom® designed for consumer or commercial use?

The Zoom® was designed for consumers who want to cut their mowing time in half and have fun doing it. Like all Ariens® ride-on products, it is backed by a two year limited warranty.

What is the warranty if used commercially?

Ninety days.

How large is the fuel tank?

The Zoom® XL's capacity is 10 gallons (dual 5 gallon tanks), the Zoom's® fuel tank capacity is 9 gallons (two 4.5 gallon tanks).

Does it have a manual or electric power take-off (blade engagement)?

All Zoom® XLs, Zooms®, and Mini-Zooms™ utilize electric PTO which allows you to start mowing by simply pulling the PTO switch.
